We saw a fun filled Premier League weekend with a downpour of goals and few upsets,the biggest winners being pace-setters Manchester City.We take a look at the best performing players from matchday 27 in the English Premier League.

Formation 4-3-3 (with 2 holding midfielders)


The Newcastle shot-stopper was magical to watch on his debut managing to keep a clean sheet.He was very vocal keeping his defence in check ,he had every angle covered and was strong on aerial balls especially corners.Outstanding performance 8.5/10


Another brilliant game for the young lad* he was hard solid at the back always availed himself and came first for the ball.A very good game for him 7.5/10

●Centre-back:Jan Vertonghen

Arsenal striking department went silent in the second half and did not offer much offensively to trouble Lloris until the last minutes of the game and it was mainly due to Vertonghen’s good reading of the game.8/10


One of the most underappreciated performers from St. James Park probably because he was overshadowed by Dubravka and Shelvey who took the spotlight,but Lejeuna played very well on Sunday and denied Martial an equaliser by blocking his shot on goal line.7.5/10


The English lad seems to have comfortably taken up the right fullback position.Defensively played well during the North-London derby and looked dangerous on the final third attack,he was one of Tottenham’s best players.8/10

Sublime passes and bossed the midfield his ball retention was second to none.World class performance 8.5/10

●Central Midfielder:Shelvey
Though he’s been a centre of criticism to the fans for the past few weeks,Shelvey pulled his socks and was up for it on Sunday,he made the world’s most expensive midfielder look ordinary he also played a big role defensively 8.5/10

●Attacking Midfielder:Kevin De Bruyne

Currently the best playmaker in England and arguably Europe.Even without David Silva he still brought out a world class 5-star show against Leicester City with 3 assists to take his assists tally to 14, shone the best for City. 9/10

●Right-forward:Mo Salah

Another brilliant game for the Egyptian who had a hand in both Liverpool’s 2 winning goals,setting Firmino for the first goal and scoring the second he also had a passing accuracy of 92%*.His goal took him to 21 league goals this season only one behind the leading top goal scorer.8/10


On his day the best striker in the Premier League,scored an astonishing double brace (4 goals) in the second half to take his league goal tally to 21 and took him to number 3 in the chart for league golden boot contenders.Mesmerising performance 9/10

●Left-forward:Harry Kane

Big moments player,it was no different on Saturday against Arsenal when he scored the only goal of the game to maintain his place as the leading top goal scorer.He fell deep to collect the ball and making intelligent off ball runs creating space whenever his team was on the opponents’half.Great game 8.5/10

●Special Mentions:-Maty Ryan

Saved a last minute penalty against Stoke in what could probably be the turning point for Brighton 7.5/10


The only positive from Southampton’s defeat,even though he did not finish the game he was the best player for the home team nonetheless 7.5/10


Chelsea’s talisman helped his team back to winning ways after scoring a brace last night 8.5/10

“Little Pea” continued his fine form on weekend as he scored his 3rd goal in 4 games for West Ham United.Deservedly won man of the match award against Watford 8/10


He made up for last weekend’s miss by scoring his 14th goal this weekend,by far the most improved player in the Premier League this season.7.5/10

Deserve to be given a shout,his partnership with Shelvey was amazing and kept United’s creative players at bay and neutralised all threats 8/10
