Nasser Al-Khelaïfi who made sure star players Neymar, Mbappe, Dani Alves arrived the Parc des Princes during the early summer 2017/18, is confident things can change in Paris
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Paris Saint-Germain CEO and Chairman, gave his verdict on the UEFA Champions League first leg in Madrid.
“We played well, especially in the second half. But the result is cruel. There is still the second leg. I believe in my players, it’ll be difficult for Real at our place, at the Parc des Princes. Our fans will support us and we’ll do everything to qualify. We’re behind our team and our coach. We still have a great chance of qualifying. We really believe we can do it and we’re going to put in a great display at the Parc.”
Just around a year after their drama with Deniz Aytekin at the Camp Nou, they were unhappy with the performance of the Italian Gianluca Rocchi at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.
“The referee didn’t help us,” Unai Emery said after Wednesday’s match.
“His decisions were contradictory and when we were on top and playing well before the break, they were strengthened with the goal from a doubtful decision.
“Then, when the game was under control, they went 2-1 up after a possible foul and then the third goal arrived.”We played a great game, but the result isn’t fair on us and there was also a handball from Ramos in the game too, so decisions clearly harmed us.
“I didn’t see it but it is the referee’s job to whistle for it if he does.
“We didn’t deserve this result.”
Having been knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona in the previous season, PSG wouldn’t want to lose this time around.
