Following Roma’s 5-2 demolition of benevento they are set to head back out on the road to try to make it three straight against Udinese wins as there Champions League match up awaits. Roma have recently got back into form after a miserable winter period. In their last meeting it was a very one-sided match in Rome Roma dominated in a 3-1 victory at the stadio olimpico in the opening weeks of the season. This time Roma will be away from home as Udin will host Roma as they will be welcomed to Stadio Friuli with that being said Udin are a very capable side that should not be underestimated they have shown their quality highlighting that was there win against Inter at the San Siro.
Udinese have a few playmaker’s that can make a serious impact. I don’t have a lot of faith in their defense but their attack is pretty decent. upfront with their main Striker Kevin Lasagna who can do a job when he is asked he knows where the net is and can burry his chances. They also have some good midfielders that can supply him with Rodrigo Dr Paul and arguably one of the most underrated players in Italian football Jakub Jankto he is such a dangerous player and Roma are going to need to control him to prevent him doing serious damage. this will be a big job for the Roma defense but if they are able to neutralize these three threats Roma will make easy work of them because without those three they will be much less effective.
On the Roma side of things we have seen a star unleash as the 20-Year Turkish International Cengiz Under has finally found his footing in this league. He has scored three goals in the last two games as well as being one of the better Roma players over the last few weeks hes been Roma’s Man Of the Match in two straight weeks. It has been proven that he has a world-class potential once he had adjusted to life in Italy and learned the language it has put in Non-Stop quality since his shaky start. We very well could see him get another goal he has the maturity and talent to be that guy for Roma. He has a player that will cause problems for the opposition. I think it is likely that Roma will stick with the same formation they have used over the last two weeks it has seemed to be very effective. 2 wins in it so its a no brainer for them to keep using it with Edin Dzeko scoring again last week and Under playing very well I think their attack can be lethal if their defense does not make mistakes. Collectively together Roma can put in great Performances as we saw last week I would start Perotti again in that attack. We also see the return of Nainggolan and Pellagrini who were both serving suspensions both will likely return to the Roma 11. With Under,Nainggolan,El Shaarawy Perotti and Dzeko in the attack or who ever starts as well as many more not to mention the options they have on the bench they will be extremely hard to stop if they are at their best on Saturday. Daniele De Rossi,Gerson as well as Patrik Schick could all make key impact from the bench. Gerson did quite well last week he has only improved through each game and will only continue to get better. I hope to see Patrik Schick getting more game time this week so he can start getting more comfortable and playing better after having to deal with injuries all season.
There is no excuse for the Giallorossi to not win this game this holds major importance. It remains very important for games like these they need to go into the Champions League game with great positivity if they go into the Ukraine with 3 straight wins they will be difficult to deal with. Now that Roma are in a Champions League place which is going to be a dog fight between Lazio Roma and Inter only two points separate them. They need to take that confidence and continue to play well I don’t see that changing here respect to the opposition because they are a good team especially if you catch them on their day but with the team Roma has this can’t end with anything but three points going back to Rome with Eusebio Di Francesco and Roma.
