Borussia Monchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund In Details
Borussia Dortmund travel to Monchengladbach to face Borussia Monchengladbach in the 23rd Matchday of the German Bundesliga. A helpless Gladbach were demolished 6:1 at the beginning of the season when these two sides last met at the Signal Iduna Park. Die Fohlenelf would be looking for some revenge as these two sides face again at the Borussia Park this Sunday.
Venue: Borussia Park, Monchengladbach
Timings: 10:30PM(IST), 6:00PM(Local Time), 5:30(GMT)
Borussia Monchengladbach: Dieter Hecking’s Gladbach is going through a tough time as they lost their last three games and didn’t score a goal in any of those games either. Gladbach would like to turn things around against Dortmund this Sunday whom they have last beaten in 2015. With only 3 points away from a European spot, this game can prove vital for Gladbach’s European hopes next season. Dieter in his last press conference said that, “We had the better chances early on against Dortmund last time. You could see that we have the quality to give them a game. We just need to make sure we keep things tight” which proves that he is confident on this match.

A relief for Gladbach as Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer who missed his last 2 matches due to a muscle tear is fit and can prove vital in Gladbach’s defense. László Bénes has been doing quite well after returning to team training and could be a part of the team this Sunday. But unfortunately Gladbach would be without their fullback Fabian Johnson who is suffering from a back trouble and hasn’t trained with the club and the involvement of Raffael is doubtful as Dieter said that he is still feeling the effects of his previous injury.
Possible Line-up: Sommer, Jantschke, Ginter, Vestergaard, Elvedi, Herrmann, Kramer, Zakaria, Grifo, Hazard, Stindl
Borussia Dortmund: Borussia Dortmund are having quite a good time after the arrival of Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea who has scored 5 goals in his last 3 games for the club with at least one goal in each game. In his recent interview he said that he is perfect at the club and is happy to contribute. Unbeaten in 2018, Dortmund would like to extend this unbeaten streak with a win against Gladbach this Sunday which can increase their chances of a Champions League spot net season. Dortmund coach Peter Stoger in his recent press conference said that, “With a win, we could get the air tight.”

Dortmund have become charged after the arrival of Marco Reus who picked up a ligament injury in the DFB Pokal final against Frankfurt last season and was absent since. Reus is a favourite to start for the club this Sunday along with Andre Schurrle who is having a great relationship with the boss. Stoger said, “Schurrle is an exceptional player. He had a hard time. Of course, I had two or three conversations with him. He does the rest himself.” Mario Gotze can also be part of the squad making him and Reus play together since 2014. The involvement of Shinji Kagawa is unlikely in this game after he suffered an ankle injury in the previous matchday against Hamburg, Stoger said.
Possible line-up: Bürki, Piszczek, Sokratis, Toprak, Schmelzer, Weigl, Dahoud, Götze, Reus, Schürrle, Batshuayi

-Gladbach have only won 1 game in 2018.
-Die Fohlenelf’s last victory came against Dortmund in 2015 which ended 3:1
-In their last 5 meetings with Dortmund, Gladbach have conceded atleast 3 goals.

-Dortmund have conceded 5 goals in their last 4 league matches.
In my opinion this will a tough game for both the clubs. The arrival of Batshuayi and the return of Reus has so far been incredible Dortmund. But we have seen the errors Dortmund have made in their defense which have led to them conceding or almost conceding. So that’s an issue BVB should take care of.
Gladbach on the other hand have also conceded due to defensive errors, so both the clubs are more or less evenly matched but I would say Dortmund have the upper han
