The match played between FC Barcelona and Girona ended in a thrilling 6-1 win for FC Barcelona as Messi showcased his class performance. Girona visited Camp Nou for the first time in official competition and shared the special pennant for this game. Visitors opened the scoring with Portu finding the net for Girona. Messi’s scintillating performance:

Coming back in second half Dembele assisted Suarez to make it 6-1. On the other hand Coutinho scored a goal from 25 yards out which was assisted by Suarez , who was assisted by Coutinho in first half. Denis Suarez was once again benched for the 12th consecutive game.
Uruguayan striker showed his class by scoring a hat-trick and assisting two goals. But his partner Leo stole the show with his god mode performance. Suarez was as usual venomous with his shots and bagging a hat-trick. With these three goals, El Pistolero is in the second spot for most goals in this season with 20 behind Messi, who has 22 goals.
Everyone was surprised to see Pique in the starting lineup as he was struggling a knee problem for last couple of weeks. After Moreno’s tackle against Espanyol, Pique has played against Chelsea, Valencia and Eibar and was seen struggling and uncomfortable. Since it was a catalan derby, no surprise Pique would have wanted to play. Yerry Mina was left ahead of this game with Gomes and Denis Suarez. At 64th minute Pique was replaced by Belgian Vermaelen and Gerard received a standing ovation from Camp Nou.
