After Roma’s recent 2-1 loss to Shakhtar Donetsk in a freezing night in Ukraine for the Champions League round of 16, Roma returns to Serie A action to try to make it four wins in a row in the league. Roma return home as they prepare to open the doors of the Stadio Olimpico to a red hot AC Milan side in a massive match between two of Italy’s biggest clubs. Roma got the better of AC Milan in the first meeting this season winning 2-0 at the San Siro. The Giallorossi are currently are on a 5 game winning streak against the Milan Giants. They have bullied AC Milan in recent years and the last loss of the capital outfit to Milan dates back all the way to 2013. However both teams remain hungry as they fight for their European ambitions. While Roma will be fighting for the Champions League, Gattuso’s boys will be looking to get back into the Europa League. A massive game for two teams who have probably picked some form at exactly the right time.

No notable absentees for the Romans in this game. Rick Karsdorp remains out with his ACL rupture looking for an April return but will be given the green light to start training very shortly. January signing from Sporting Clube de Portugal Jonathan Silva is questionable for the game as it’s unclear whether he will be given a clean bill of health before the match on Sunday. He may be fit enough for the bench but it’s unlikely for him to play. Finally Maxime Gonalons still out with his calf injury and it’s unknown when he will return. Daniele de Rossi, Edin dzeko and Federico Fazio all are in risk of suspension and need to be careful in this upcoming match.
No new injury servicing out of the Milan Camp either with Andrea Conti still out with his ACL and Mateo Musacchio continued calf problems will probably keep him out but has a slight chance of playing. Jherson Vergara and Mnamdi Oduamadi both out due to a suspension. Only Leonardo bonucci isn’t rest of suspension for the Milan Giants.

Despite Roma’s recent loss the Ukraine on Wednesday they did manage to get an away goal which will prove to be important when the second leg arrives. Despite an abysmal second half in the first half Roma looked pretty good the most positive thing of the evening a part from Roma’s away goal was what he continued to rise of Turkish Winger Cengiz Under. He has gone from some of the unknown to a superstar. As he has scored five goals since the turn of the year. He has scored in 4 games in a row there’s no reason why he can’t do the same here. He is a big reason why Roma are on a three-game winning streak after suffering the poorest form of the season they’re finally back and firing make no mistake about it this young TARC is going to be a big problem they have really they played much better since he has been put into the starting lineup. They are heating up in the most important stretch of the season.
They have finally found their groove and are unbeaten in the last seven. they have a solid team that can compete with Roma but it depends on end up seeing they are hot right now but they can easily get cold very quickly. However at the moment they are in a very hot. They have one four games in their last 5 League matches they have hit their groove at exactly the right time. They have a slight chance possibly over passing entering the standing it’s unlikely to happen for Champions League may not be out of the question for them it would take a great effort and luck would have to go their way but they are playing some of their best football this season they will only shoot up the table if they continue to play at this level.
Writer’s Take : For Roma, the key to success is quite a simple strategy. If Roma are able to neutralize Suso and Cutrone it eliminates any attacking threat if they are able to stop them they can take Milan out of the game because when the two of them are not performing at the highest level Milan struggles. Roma also need Nainggolan play the way he did last weekend. Chance creation is key and Roma need to pass at a high velocity to get there stars involved, Radja being the catalyst of that. They need to get the Cengiz Under to get as many opportunities as possible with Dzeko up front you give him service he will deliver Under and Dzeko are extremely important for Radja to create chances Roma have an advantage in their defense as well the height Federico Fazio will disrupt AC Milan due to their under-sized team. For Milan they must do whatever they can to slow down under they will not stop him but if they could just slow him down they might have a chance at this. Milan’s defense is extremely important if a Roma’s game plan collapses Milan have a chance to take advantage they basically need to catch them sleeping. In all honesty despite their hot streak they’re attacking options doesn’t scare me and I think ultimately Roma will have too much for Milan to pull the upset.
