Gokulam Kerala FC missed the top six finish in I-League by a whisker. Drawing to Mohun Bagan on the final day of the campaign saw them finish 7th on the table and get pitted against ISL outfit NorthEast United in the Super Cup qualifiers.
The team from Kerala has been one of the few positives of I-League this season. The players under Bino George had got rejuvenated in the second half of the league campaign after some shuffling to the roster. But before the team took the right path, the team management had already decided the person who would be seen at the helm of the Kerala outfit next season, maybe even before that if they qualify for the main rounds of the Super Cup. The name of the person is Fernando Andres Santiago Valera.
TalkSports 24X7 told you for the first time about Gokulam Kerala striking a deal with this Spanish Head-Coach at mid-season. According to our sources, Valera has got his VISA the day before yesterday and would be flying for India on Monday. He will drop at Bhuvaneshwar on 14th and will directly join the team who would be having match against NorthEast United.
Valera in all probability might also be seen in the dug-out but George will remain the Head-Coach in that match. Incase Gokulam further proceeds to the next round of the Super Cup then the Spaniard might be seen replacing Bino and Bino getting attached to the management in some higher role.
