With a host of clubs currently monitoring Monaco sensation Thomas Lemar as his contract edges completion with the French champions, quite a few Premier League teams are now interested in snatching the opportunity to turn the tide and sign the French winger and bolster their front-line.
With Liverpool and Arsenal long-time admirers of the 22-year old, it seems like runaway league champions Manchester City are in the fray to sign the player too. With Arsenal missing out on signing him last summer at the last minute, it also meant that Alexis Sanchez could not move to City.
After an outward flush of majority of Monaco’s young talents in the summer with the like of Bernando Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy; it seems like Lemar is to follow the same footsteps. With City missing out on both Sanchez in the summer and Mahrez in recent January, Pep has been getting headaches in rotating Sané and after his injury had only three attackers in the side.
Although Lemar hasn’t been in his best of forms, the left winger has still helped his side stay afloat on the second position in the league standing. He has scored twice and has assisted seven goals in the twenty-one games he has played in for the French outfit.
The coming transfer window promises to be a treat as there may very well be a three way tussle between Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City to land the creative playmaker for a fee which may rise up to as high as £90 million.
