Recent Form –
East Bengal has been seen as much more composed side after the arrival of new TD Subhash Bhowmick. The team has improved a lot in defence & in midfield. Still they miss the flair in the striking position. Dudu Omagbemi, the main striker, hasn’t seen in the top form which he had showed in the 2nd half of I league. He has been badly criticised by the supporters for missing easy chances. Eventually East Bengal defeated FC Goa by the only goal of Dudu Omagbemi in the semi final. East Bengal won tne last cup final ( Federation Cup ) in 2012, the team will be looking to write another inspirational story by touching the silverware.
On the other hand, Bengaluru FC has been the best Indian club so far. They’ve predominantly reached the final of ISL but couldn’t win the title. Players like Miku, Sunil Chhetri, Udanta Singh are in great form. Eventually Miku scored a hattrick against mighty Mohun Bagan, where as Sunil Chhetri scored a hattrick against NEROCA FC in tbe quarter final. Bengaluru FC will be very much confident to clinch the inaugural Super Cup.

Author’s Take –
The clash between East Bengal & Bengaluru FC is known as Indian Classico for the intensity of the game, excitement on & off the field. The two teams have fiercest groups of supporters ( East Bengal Ultras & West Block Blues ) who actually make the stadium hell for the opponent teams. In the I league we’ve seen such fierce battles. In the Super Cup, we’ve seen such battles between ISL & I League Teams, & it would be another important clash of two leagues in the final. Bengaluru FC has been known for their attacking line where as East Bengal predominantly outclassed the opponents with the defence. It would definitely be an interesting battle to watch out.
