Delhi Daredevils V Rajasthan Royals Match Preview

In pre-tournament give and take, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils reckoned as pretty balanced sides tending sound melange of native and outlanders in their respective squads but both teams miscarried to act out themselves. Though their positions in the points table show difference but it is because of one win more of Rajasthan otherwise they have the worst net run rate that is going to haunt them at some stage of tournament.
In the first leg of VIVO IPL 2018, Royals were able to overcome Delhi in a rain marred clash in Jaipur, now it is turn for DD to play at their home ground. Delhi’s check in to their home ground saw them making drastic changes in their setup, Gambhir’s abdication from captaincy being highlight of that. Correspondingly they registered their second win of the season in second home game after losing the first one by a whisker against Kings XI Punjab. In between another away game against CSK added one more defeat to their tally to push them back more.

On the other hand Rajasthan Royals have been pegged back by poor form of their pre tournament supposed stars like Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Jaydev Unadkat and Dhawal Kulkarni. Inclusion of Jofra Archer have added great value to their combination, if Stokes and Butler have been able to find their mojo, Rajasthan Royals might still have good chances in race to the playoffs.

With at least half of the season gone for both teams every game is must win to keep the hopes alive for top 4. Kotla crowd may hope for a fascinating contest in reserves.

Team combinations:

○Delhi Daredevils:

Opening pair of Prithvi Shaw and Colin Munro has looked good enough so far, with likes of Iyer, Pant and Shankar have also looked in touch. Sole problem in their batting is giant Maxwell’s inconsistency but there are give away chances DD drops him.

In the bowling department Avesh Khan, Trent boult , Amit Mishra have been bowling well but Liam Plunkett has offered couple of bad performances after a great debut. He is likely to be retained in the playing eleven but for a chance junior Dala might be called in.

Rajasthan Royals :

Likes of Rahul Tripathi and Jos buttler are going through bad patch, though they don’t have too many options to replace them but there is a possibility of Prashant Chopra and one from Klassen and Short might replace both players.
There bowling has been fine and is unlikely to tweaked.
