It was a fluctuating contest on offer between Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in the 32nd match of VIVO IPL 2018. Match took many interchanges before going in Delhi’s favour on the very last ball!

1. Another rain-curtailed affair:

Akin to what happened in first leg game between two sides in Jaipur, rain had it’s part to play in the game, first just after toss rain constrained the proceedings for around one hour that caused a deduction of 2 overs from each innings to make it a 18 overs clash. Rain Gods did not drop back for long and did strike again in the 18th over of first innings to halt the game more!
Though unlike first leg matches’ result this time Delhi daredevils been able to scoop Rajasthan Royals.

2. One more Prithvi-show :-

Prithivi Shaw has been relishing the opportunities In IPL. Supplanting into the team as a result of crossover when Delhi arrived to it’s home ground in their 6th match, Prithvi Shaw has done well most of the times he got opportunity. In this match again, in an all important game, having lost his partner Colin Munro for a golden duck, shaw dished up a volley of flamboyant strokes. Prithvi scored 47 off 25 balls with 4 sixes and 4 fours to apprise cricketing fraternity with his endowment.

3. Rishabh Pant earns Orange Cap :

It’s been a dream season for Rishabh Pant. Irrespective of Delhi’s vacillating run in the tournament, Pant has been in sublime form from the very outset. Blistering knock of 69 off 29 balls was his third fifty of the season and as a befitting result it helped him coming on the top of heavy going competition for orange cap.

4. Jos Buttler shone as an opener:

Chasing the stiff target of 151 in 12 overs, captain Rahane sensed the need of quick fire start and send Joss Buttler as opener with D’arcy Short. Butler had not been in good form and was struggling to get going throughout the tournament, even effect of his bad form was obvious on scrambling RR batting.
Opening the innings helped Butler finding his mojo back and he crushed DD attack with utmost briskness making a tough target very much gettable. His 26 balls 67 consisted 4 fours and 7 mammoth sixes. Unfortunately quick wickets after his departure called them off the target by mere 4 runs.

5. Delhi Daredevils kept themselves afloat :

A loss here could shut all doors for Delhi but in a photo finish they held their nerves to keep their chances alive for playoffs. They have won 2 games out of 3 they played at home and they have 4 more games at home out of 5 left in total. They seem to have the combination to compete hard and win at home. Certainly DD fans can hope for some great fun in upcoming IPL weeks.
