Barça confident on roping in Antoine Griezmann soon
Despite the set back that included Atletico offering Griezmann a better deal and issuing an official statement saying they’re fed up with the Catalans’ attitude, Barcelona seem to reach the final agreement with the French striker.
Sport claims that Barca bosses met witb Griezmann’s representatives to finalize his move to the Camp Nou. According to Catalunya Radio president Josep Maria Bartomeu, vice president Jordi Mestre, CEO Oscar Grau, general manager Pep Segura and sporting director Robert Fernandez were all present at the meeting in April when the agreement was reached. On Griezmann’s side were the player’s sister, Maud Griezmann, and his family’s legal advisor.
Barcelona are now expected to pay Griezmann’s release clause that will be lowered from €200m to €100m on 1 July.
