This week’s WWE Monday Night Raw took place at London’s O2 Arena. The episode had some interesting line-ups of matches some of which did not live upto the expectations while some did. Here’s a look-back to some of the interesting clashes from this week’s RAW:
1. Intercontinental Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs Kevin Owens
Winner: Seth Rollins
This was perfect opening for the show. A long match, that finally saw Seth Rollins retain his Intercontinental Championship after hitting Owens with a Stomp.
2. Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Bobby Roode vs. Baron Corbin vs. No Way Jose
Winner: Bobby Roode
With many nearfalls, this was a fun and lively match. In the end, it was Roode who qualified for the MITB match, after hitting Jose with a Glorious DDT for the pin.
3. Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie James vs. Bayley
Winner: Alexa Bliss
For a large part of the match, Bliss and James tried to outnumber Bayley by their temporary alliance. But Bayley fought back. However, after many nearfalls, it was Bliss that stood tall after she pinned Bayley to qualify for the women’s MITB match.
4. The complete segment with Roman Reigns and Jinder Mahal:
Last week, Jinder had costed Roman’s chance to qualify for the MITB match. This week, it was Roman’s turn. In the very beginning of the night, he attacked Jinder at backstage. Later on in the night, he attacked Jinder once again through a ‘wall’, thereby destroying Jinder’s chance to qualify for the MITB match.
WWE is heading towards a Mahal vs Reigns match! Let’s see where this leads to, and who gets the cheers and boos.
5. Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Kevin Owens vs. Elias vs. Bobby Lashley
Winner: Kevin Owens
With Jinder Mahal unable to compete, Kevin Owens is added to the Triple Threat Match. This was a strong match with some pretty hilarious moments involving Elias. Moreover, Lashley was again able to demonstrate his brute force in front of the English crowd.
However, in the end, a distraction from Sami helped Owens win the match! He has now qualified for the MITB match.
