Vivo Pro Kabbadi League Season 6 returns with the exciting auction which is taking place on Wednesday and Thursday in Mumbai. Every franchise was eager to pick their favourite players from the pool of players with their star players retained. While some didn’t retain any player from their previous season and went in fresh. Jaipur Pink Panthers, U Mumba and UP Yodha didn’t retain a single player from their previous while they can get their old players back if needed using FBM card.

The total salary purse for every franchise is Rs. 4 Crore and each can build a team of 18-25 players which may include Retained Elite Players, Existing New Young Players and NYP from the auction. Session one took place at the morning for foreign players from 14 different countries which had 58 players from Iran, Kenya, Japan, Republic of Korea and Malasiya. Day-1 started with Abozar Mighani, who was bought by Telugu Titans at 76 lakhs, followed by Fazel Atrachali became the most expensive player at 1 crore who was bought by U Mumba. Now let’s take a look at the top five buys of day-1.

1. Monu Goyat:

Monu Goyat stole the show on Day-1 of auction as he was the costliest pick at Rs. 1.51 Crore and was sold to Haryana Steelers. Goyat broke the records of previous seasons which was held by Rahul Chaudhari and Deepak Niwas Hooda. The former Patna Pirates raider got the lime light after good performance for his franchise last season with five star raider Pardeep Narwal. However, Goyat didn’t shine under Pardeep Narwal’s performances.
He made some crucial points when Pradeep was off and one of the key players for Patna Pirates success last season. Monu Goyat played 13 games last season and secured 59 raid points in his 168 raids. Goyat managed to get 52 successful raids and 75 empty raids. With Wazir Singh, Monu Goyat will be expected to lead his raid department.

2. Rahul Chaudhari :

Rahul Chaudhari was the second highest pick of Rs.1.29 Crore to Telugu Titans. With no surprises Rahul went for a big money with franchises fighting for the 5 star raider. He was the costliest pick after which Monu went for 1.51 Crore. Rahul impressed everyone in Season-1 of PKL with 151 raid points. ‘Raid Machine’ was adjudged ‘Raider of the season’ during Season-4 of PKL. He scored a whoopinh 146 raid points in that season. He was also the first player and raider to secure 700+ points in Pro Kabbadi League. Rahul has also won Gold medal for Indian National Kabbadi team in 2016 South Asian Games. Jaipur Pink Panthers started the bid with 20 Lakhs and Patna Pirates took that to 60 Lakhs. Delhi won the bidding war at 1.29 Crore and Telugu Titans got their Raid Machine back with FBM.

3. Deepak Niwas Hooda:

Deepak Niwas Hooda was the first player to cross the 1 Crore mark of the night and reached Rs.1.15 Crore. He was sold to Jaipur Pink Panthers, who didn’t retain a single player from their previous season. Deepak Hooda as an all-rounder adds more value to his side and with no doubt he went for an whooping money. As an all-rounder and skipper for Puneri Paltans, Hooda did very well last season. He will be expected to do the same for his new franchise of Abisheik Bachan owned Jaipur Pink Panthers. Deepak has 8 super raids to his name last season.

Nitin Tomar

4. Nitin Tomar :

Nitin Tomar was bought by Puneri Paltans at Rs.1.15 Crore. No one will forget that Nitin was the most expensive player last season. He was brought at Rs.93 lakhs and once again he had a bidding war in Mumbai. From the base price of Rs.20 lakh, Puneri Paltan took it to Rs.1.15 Crore. Nitin Tomar had 7 super raids last season for UP Yodhas. This will be a contest again for the young raider from Uttar Pradesh.

5. Rishank Devadiga :

Rishank Devadiga was sold to Dabang Delhi for Rs.1.11 Crore and later FBM card was used by UP Yodha to retain their player. The lad from Mumbai attracted Delhi, Mumbai and Haryana who took the base price to 1.11 crore. Rishank has 449 raid points to his name and no wonder he crossed 1 crore mark. Rishank Devadiga performed well for his franchise last season with 12 Super Raids.He secured 165 raid points in his 21 games for UP Yodha. Mr. Consistent is expected to perform well for his side once again in PKL Season-6.
