Samara Arena, the football stadium in Samara, more popularly known as Cosmos Arena is one of the venues which will host matches of the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia. It is one of the most important venues of the tournament which although known as Cosmos Arena to the locals, will be called Samara Arena during the World Cup.
Samara is the capital of the Samara region, its population is 1.1 Million. The city is famous for the Russia’s Aerospace Centre. Samara served as the 2nd Capital of Russia during World War 2. The city is famous for the 37-meter deep Stalin Bunker, who formalise the ideas as Marxism-Leninism and his own polices known as Stalinism. And offcourse the Zhigulevskie Hills, on the Volga River.
As the Russian Aerospace Centre presented in Samara on the memorial of Yuri Gagarin, The first human to make a journey into outer space on Vostok Space craft, a 68 metre, 20 ton monument of Soyuz carrier rocket had been built on his memorial.

From the capital city of Moscow, Samara is about 1057 KM away. It is a major transport hub, as it is well connected with Airway, Railway and Water way. For the World Cup, Russian government has renovated Airports, special trains and even bus facilities will be arranged for the travelling fans.

The stadium consists of 2 level open stand and 2 level of Box.
As Samara is the Space capital of Russia, the arena resembels a spacecraft. It is inspired by Space exploration, which resembles the countries heritage in Space. During the construction, there was a fire accident in August 2017 which had delayed the construction work.
Inspite of the interruption, the stadium, the construction of which had begun in 2014 finished in 28th April, 2018.
The stadium was designed by TerrNIIgrazhdanproekt and the stadium has been constructed by Kazan Production and Construction Association. The total cost of the stadium is 18.9 Billion Ruples.
It is a new stadium built for the FIFA World Cup, after the World Cup this will become the home stadium to Kylia Sovetov FC, Russian Premier League side.

A total of six games are scheduled in Samara Arena: 4 group games, 1 Round of 16 game and a quater final game.

Samara regional government had built a bus terminus near the stadium and will provide extra bus services from and to the Airport and Railway station.
