Fisht Olympic stadium is a stadium based in Sochi, Russia named after Mount Fisht. This stadium located in Sochi will host the FIFA World Cup games in Russia. It was first built for the 2014 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, where it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies. It was constructed for this main purpose at a cost of 779 million US dollars.
Later, Fisht Stadium was used for couple of tournaments after renovating in January 2015 for around 46 million US dollars for FIFA Confederations and World Cup. Closed roof in the stadium was also removed as per FIFA regulations. Fisht gets a name as only stadium to host Winer Olympics and matches of FIFA Confederations Cup.
Fisht Stadium is located in Sochi, Russia. It is located 4,617 Km apart from Moscow. It can be found at Sochi Olympic Park in Adler, south of Sochi Airport, at 15 Olympic Avenue. In Russia we can reach Fisht Stadium through buses 57, 117, 125, 134 and 173. If you don’t want to access the stadium through bus then you can reach by suburban electric train too.

This Stadium will host members of around 48,000 for this grand event of World Cup 2018 and will be reduced to 40,000 after World Cup.
● STRUCTURE AND ARCHITECTURE:
Fisht Olympic Stadium was designed with roof and was built from 36,500 square metres of ETFE. It depicts the appearance of snowy peaks designed by Populous. This Stadium was built in such a way that gives a direct view of Krasnaya Polyana Mountains in the north and view of Black Sea in the south. Fisht is also an UEFA category 4 stadium. This stadium was designed by Populous and BuroHappold Engineering, a British design consultancy.
The field size is 105x68m and has four stands, where two are on the canopy sides and the rest two are the open front stands. This was started at 2006 initially and during 2008, Site clearing and purchasing of land began.
Construction began during 2010 and a symbolic capsule planted bearing message, “Believe in yourself, and together we will win.” Finally the construction was completed on 2013, later hosted FIFA Confederations Cup 2017. Now, it is all set to host the mega festival.

Fisht Stadium can be accessed by flight, bus and also by train. It can be reached by buses 57, 117, 125, 134 and 173. There is also a Suburban electric train Sochi-Adler-Olympic Park by which we can reach the stadium.
