Architecture :

Stadium St. Petersburg, designed by the Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa, is one of the most technologically sophisticated sports arenas in Europe. Some of it’s cool features are the retractable roof, which takes only 15 minutes to open or close, and the roll-out pitch, which can be deployed for all kinds of mass events.

The arena is located in the westerly part of Krestovsky Island, replacing the historical Sergey Kirov Stadium. It’s a great location, and its transportation accessibility has been much improved by 2018, what with the new Novokrestovskaya Metro station and the new pedestrian bridge linking the island with the southern coast of Primorsky District.
