Kerala Blasters have recently been in the headlines regarding issues of their ownership overhaul and the departure of Sachin Tendulkar from the scene. But the Blasters are also having issues with their side regarding injuries or unavailability of the players.
Cyril Kali, the French centre-back has fallen prey to injury recently. Kali was seen sitting on the bench and unable to walk during the practice match of Blasters against Bangkok United FC ‘B’ team. Although the team management has not officially disclosed any update regarding the injury of the player but according to sources the injury is serious and the defender might find it hard to recover before Kerala’s first match of the campaign putting David James under all sorts of headache.
Kerala Blasters formed one of the strongest defences this season with the likes of Anas, Jhingan, Kali in the ranks. But Blasters will not get the services of Anas Edathodika in the first three matches for the punishment he received due to the brawl in last season’s Super Cup Match between Jamshedpur and Goa. Now if Cyril Kali fails to recover from the injury then David James may have to reshape his defence line before their first match of the campaign.
