After 81 minutes of frustration caused by Frosinone, Juventus found their way through a powerful strike by Cristiano Ronaldo that changed the fortunes and set Juventus for a fifth straight win. With a quick break, Bernadeschi made sure that the three points are secured with a late goal. Let’s have a look at some significant points of the game
● Frosinone Were Up For A Fight :
The 2-0 scoreline doesn’t tell the entire story. Frosinone was so stubborn but Moreno Longo’s men suffered another defeat and it was another defeat with a goal. Frosinone had 14 new players this season. They were trashed 5-0 by Sampdoria last week. But in this game against Juventus, they had the heart. They knew how to hang in the game and they hung in for a really long time
● Juventus Should Be Doing Better Infront Of Goal :
Juventus had plenty of opportunities to score but they were not able to convert those chances. It certainly would have been a completely different game had Juventus took these chances but unfortunately, the game remained the same. Juventus were 9 minutes away from a goalless draw.
● Frustration Was Building Upon Cristiano :
There was a sense of frustration building on Ronaldo as the game went on the Ballon d’Or winner who was poised with many chances but he wasn’t able to get the ball behind the net. There was a point in the second half of the game where Juventus received a free kick and it is probably the first time that Cristiano Ronaldo walked away from the ball and gave the ball to Pjanic and Dybala to take the free kick which gave a sense of it is not going to happen with him but to his credit he eventually scored the goal.
● Smaller The Opposition The Bigger The Threat For The Big Teams :
Some of these games can be like banana skin cause everybody expects Juventus to walk all over the opposition but in professional football, it doesn’t work that way. In games like these the longer the games like these goes on, the more opposition believe in themselves and they try giving everything against the big teams. This is the reason why the bigger teams have players like Ronaldo who help them in getting over the line.
● Pjanic’s Advanced Role For Juventus :
When Emre Can signed for Juventus everyone wondered how would the youngster compete with the likes of Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and Rodrigo Bentancur. In this game, it was quite fascinating to see Pjanic play a little more advanced role in the midfield and Emre Can occupying the role of holding midfielder. Although it could be a little experiment from Allegri against a smaller opposition like Frosinone but we could be seeing more of this as Can starts to get more and more time on the field.
