With all stage set for the festival of Kabaddi which is ready to start by October 7, 2018, Haryana Steelers are all set to steal the trophy of season 6 of PKL which has changed the game of Kabaddi all over the world completely. Haryana Steelers will play from Mothilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, Sonepat with 2000 seating capacity. The JSW sports owned franchise will be coached by Rambir Singh Khokhar. The Captain of the team is not yet finalized but likely Surendar Nada is going to lead the team as he captianed Haryana last season also. The Haryana based franchise retained only one player- Kuldeep Singh(all-rounder) with not much experience but made a huge noise in the PKL player auction 2018 held at Bengaluru in June by adding the raiding sensation Monu Goyat for a whooping 1.5 crores, highest in the history of PKL who previously played for Patna Pirates. They also bought Vikas khandola, their season 5 star in raiding and made their raiding department much stronger than before. To support these young talent in raiding Steelers bought experienced Wasir Singh, who has previously played for Pune, Delhi and For Haryana for season. They bought their previous seasons Captain Surender Nada, Sachin Shingade, Neeraj Kumar as their key defenders for season 6.

Haryana Steelers have a very well balanced squad in PKL season 6 with two main key raiders who can send the opposition players onto bench quickly and score maximum in do or die situations and can turn the game for their side. With likely Surendar Nada leading the side with Sachin Shingade, Wasir Singh and Monu Goyat alongside will be a big threat to the opposition. The key all-rounders for Haryana this season are retained namely Kuldeep Singh and Mayur Shivtarker. Talismanic and costly player Monu Goyat known for his “Running Hand Touch”, who was a game changer for Patna last season has scored a total of 265 points in just 39 matches, out of which 202 were scored in Season 5. With Vikas Khandola and experienced Wazir Singh alongside with him, both known for “Running Hand Touch”, have 359 points in 58 matches by both of them collectively.

Overall points in raiding by Monu Goyat, Vikas Khandola and Wazir Singh is 624 points which should be watched out this season. Defence is quite strong for Steelers this season with the second-most successful defender in vivo Pro Kabaddi Surender Nada, left corner specialist with one of the most feared ankle holds in the game has defended 239 points in 70 matches he played and has a record of 19 high 5s in these 70 matches is tied for the most high 5s in the league and also most consecutive high 5s (5) in his name. Another defender to watch out for is Vikas who has quite an impressive last season with 26 points in 19 matches he played. Overall this is a well balanced side to compete for the title.

Haryana Steelers had a great season last year with Surender Nada topping the table for best defender with 80 points, 74 successful tackles, 6 super tackles and 9 high 5s in 21 matches he played. They have scored 727 points and conceded 726 points in 23 matches. They are at 2nd place below Pune for most Do or Die points with 105 points. They have 327 successful raids with 404 raid points and 206 successful tackles with 227 tackle points. Overall their performance was good last season when compared to other team’s performance.

Haryana Steelers have a good balanced side this season with Surendra Nada leading the team and the defence. The raiding department is quite decent with Monu Goyat and Sachin Shingade as key raiders and helping them is experienced Wazir Singh. With these quality raiders and experienced defence line the team looks like sealing a spot in playoffs this season which they missed in previous season. Overall Steelers are expected to perform well when company to previous seasons considering their squad this season.
