The 5th gameweek of the I-League season-12 started in Srinagar, where the Snow Leopards played against former champions Mohun Bagan where the visitors clinched victory by a sleek margin. The hosts Real Kashmir played with the 4-2-3-1 formation Whereas Shankarlal played with a 4-1-4-1 formation.

1. Domination of Real Kashmir FC :
From the start the home side was dominating the visitors. In the first 15 minutes Bagan players could not have the ball in their control. However an early booking was handed to the RKFC, A.Katebe had received a yellow card in the 8th minute for his dangerous tackle. The game became bit rash thereafter.

2. Box to Box movement :

The Mariners understood the strategy followed by the Snow Leopards. Soon after Mohun Bagan started to play with long passing style, it worked out immediately. On the 23rd minute Omar took a beautiful shot which got saved brilliantly by Real Kashmir goalie Bilal.

3. Dipanda Dicka broke the deadlock :

Soon after the home side also followed the same strategy i.e playing long balls which resulted in positive movement. But in the 70th minute Dipanda Dicka finally broke the deadlock. Kisseka’s perfect cross was headed into the net by Dicka which ultimately proved to be the winning goal.

4. Distress of Real Kashmir FC Continues :

The 2017-18 I-League 2nd Division winners has had a moderate season so far. After the win against Minerva Punjab in their opening game the team faced it’s 2nd consecutive defeat. The holding of ball was good but the finishing was not up to the mark for David Robertson’s side which resulted in defeat. Comparing to Mohun Bagan, today more shots and corners were created by the hosts but they failed to turn that into a successful finish. If Real Kashmir has to do well this season, they will need a goal scorer sooner than later.

5. Dipanda Dicka thanked his teammates :

Dicka was named as Player of the match. He thanked his fellowmates for the hard fight from 1st minute to the end. After the end of 24 games, the southerners Chennai City FC are on the top of the table with a difference of 5 points between them and the 2nd place holders. Only 3 teams had not faced the loss so far this season and Bagan is one of them.
