5 Talking Points : Kerala Blasters Overwhelmed By NorthEast’s Injury Time Heroics 0

kerala blasters vs north east

NorthEast United hosted Kerala Blasters in their fourth home game of the season in Guwahati yesterday kicking off the 37th match of the 5th season which had a twist in the tale for the last moment. Here are the five talking points from the clash:-

1. Continuous defeats for Kerala Blasters :

Kerala Blasters have now failed to win any of their last three games. The team took the lead on 72nd minute and maintained it till 90th min, but as usual, they could not hold the lead till the end. The hope of Kerala Blasters FC in season 5 of ISL will end soon if the game plan of David James remain such poor. There were a lot of opportunities to Kerala but they failed to convert any.

2. Red Jersey lucky for NorthEast United FC?

It was the second time in the league this season that NorthEast United came back from behind to win a game and the only thing common on both the occasions was the colour of the jersey.

While the first game was an away game against last season’s champions Chennaiyin FC the next was yesterday.

The reason why today’s win was unique regarding the colour of the jersey is that it was a home game for NorthEast United FC and as we all know, white is the home jersey colour for them. But due to specific reasons, they chose to wear the red colour Jersey for the second time and it helped them break the jinx of not winning a home game this season.

The win today also brought back memories of the Chennaiyin game where NEUFC came back dramatically to secure the win.

3. Young talents are impressing in season 5 :

Dheeraj made good clearances from corners coming out to punch the ball away on several occasions.

S.Doungel had a good start in the match. James was expecting a goal from Doungel which he didn’t deliver. However, a pair of assists from the winger was enough to appease the coach.
Lalruatthara is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a left back for the Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League and for the Indian national team. He is an impressive player and one for the future.

Sahal Abdul Samad is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League. He is from Kannur, Kerala. He played in the first eleven against North-East. Now he is known as young ‘Ozil of India’ !

4. Sandesh Jhingan the real hero :

Sandesh was the captain of Blasters in the match against Northeast United FC and he was named as the hero of the match. A little error was made by him at 92nd minute and conceded a penalty to the Northeast United and they made a level on it. Except for that situation he delivered a wonderful performance against a tricky opponent. The only person who showed the maximum effort was him on match day. He has played for the last 5 seasons as the great wall of Kerala and has gradually emerged as the best centre-back of the country.

5. Extra time tragedy for Blasters :

The match against between two of the most supported sides in ISL was very interesting
and had a lot of twists. The game started with both sides in attacking mood and both sides created a lot of chances but neither managed to convert the opportunities into goal. The second half was good to watch and Kerala struck first on 72nd min via Matej Poplatnik. Later the performance of Kerala was slowing down and NorthEast was building stronger and started to attack timely on opponent half. The result has been achieved by NorthEast in the Extra time where they got a penalty which got converted to a goal by Bartholomew Ogbeche and after a few minutes, NorthEast made another amazing finish on the last minute via Juan Cruz Mascia. Northeast added another late victory and are now in top of 3 of the table while Kerala’s dreams are slowly fading for this season.
