Up Close And Personal| Jayesh Rane Speaks About His Life With ATK And Also His National Team Dreams

ATK got their fourth win of the season against the febbling defending champions Chennaiyin FC at the Marina Arena with 3-2 on board. The Flying Tigers took the early lead as soon as in fourteenth minute when Jayesh Rane took a terrific shot from a distance of thirty-thirty five yards, hitting top left of the net like a missile. This goal proved the kind of confidence the Steve Coppell managed side were on that helped them to turn out victorious even after the initial goal was equalised by Thoi Sing in the twenty fourth minute. Lanzarote’s brace from the penalty spot boosted the flying tigers so much that it made them safe enough to concede a goal at eighty-eighth minute.

It was Jayesh Rane who proved his worth all through the match once again as he was awarded entry into the starting eleven from the last match by Steve Coppell. Rane was awarded the ‘Swift Limitless Player of the Match’ as well.

Talk Sports 24X7 got hold of this young man with high fan following after the match to know his reaction after scoring his first goal for ATK.

Talk Sports 24X7 : How are you feeling after scoring your maiden goal for ATK as it was a terrific goal that we don’t come to see everyday?

Jayesh Rane : Obviously it was a great feeling as it was my first goal for ATK and it turned to be against by former team. Actually I just got too much space and so I went for it. I knew I can strike it and for god’s grace I did it well that made people praising for it. (Smiles)

Talk Sports 24X7 : Jayesh what’s your take on your team’s performance today?

Jayesh Rane : Everyone worked hard! The whole team, we were very desperate for the win and I am happy that we gathered all the three points. We will surely do better game by game as we target to qualify for the playoffs. The penalties were well taken by Lanza that assured our victory.

Talk Sports 24X7 : Jayesh Rane first turned to be the super sub this season. But for the last two games you got into the first eleven and you performed very well sharpening the attack. What’s the reason of this come back?

Jayesh Rane : I started some games in the early season too. But we didn’t got the wins we wanted to. So it was obvious for the coach to change. Trust me I was just waiting to get back into the starting eleven so I worked hard in the practice. I was literally waiting to score a goal as it had been long here in ATK. I am happy I did it last night.

Talk Sports 24X7 : How was your experience to play against your former team at their den? We heard the home fans cheering even after you have scored against them.

Jayesh Rane : It was awesome. Last year I missed this fixtured due to injury but this year I was lucky to get there. Chennai fans are really awesome! I would like to thank them for the love and support they have shown for me. It’s a great gesture to be appreciated by the opponent fans.

Talk Sports 24X7 : The league table has opened completely now. What’s your thought on ATK going for the playoffs?

Jayesh Rane : We have a very good chance to qualify for the playoffs as the kind of game we played the last match it proves how deliberate and desperate we are to make it to the playoffs and I think we can make it.

Talk Sports 24X7 : How crucial is the match against NEUFC and BFC. Are you specially concerned about Ogbeche the goal machine?

Jayesh Rane : Both the next games are crucial for us. But it’s better to go one by one. Northeast is in a really good form and so is Ogbeche. So it will obviously be a difficult task for us but not an impossible one as I think we are capable of doing what we need to do.

Talk Sports 24X7 : We found your parents wishing for your national team call. How are you working on it?

Jayesh Rane : It’s a dream for every athlete to play for his country and I am not any different! So I am working hard to get a chance to make into the national team. I hope I will get it.
