Ninteen year old midfielder from Sikkim gets promoted to the main team of ATK by virtue of his eye-catching performances for the reserve team of the Kolkata-based ISL franchise. Ashis Pradhan, who has been a regular name in the midfield of the reserve team, earned his call for the main team to fill the void created by the departed duo of Malsawmzuala and Cavin Lobo, who joined Jamshedpur FC and East Bengal on season-long loans respectively.
Ashis is a product of the famed Tata Football Academy and also proved his mark in the AIFF developmental side Indian Arrows on a brief spell. He also earned a call-up in the national U20 team in between this tenure with Arrows.
The midfielder is quite excited to get the promotion to the main team. “Long way to go” is what he said when we asked about his feelings about this move. Now it is a matter of time for us to see this young prospect donning the Red-n-White stripes in an ISL game.
