Lionel Messi could wear the Argentina shirt again and mark his return to international duty at the Camp Nou, where he and his national teammates would face Venezuela on March 22 or 26.
Guillermo Tofoni is the FIFA match agent responsible for the game and he is currently attempting to arrange for it to be hosted at Messi’s home stadium, though there are also suggestions that it could be played at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano.
Although Messi had planned to return for the Copa America, the game being held in Barcelona could see him return prior to the summer.
The No.10 last played for his country on June 30, 2018 as they were eliminated from the World Cup following a 4-3 defeat to France, where he then decided to take a break.
As things stand, Lionel Scaloni’s side have only one fixture confirmed for before the Copa America kicks off and the Camp Nou may be the perfect stadium for Messi to return to the team.
