In their very first game of 2019, India and Thailand already find themselves in must-win territory to haul back into view of diffficult ties ahead.
With Thailand coach Rajevac showing respect and at the same time confidence of winning the tie by stating, “We respect India, they have improved over the last few years but we have prepared very well and my team has been focusing on that as we will be taking it one match at a time.”
Regarding Thailand’s failure to retain the regional championship he admitted that criticism doesn’t affect him. He said “That will motivate us further. We are looking forward to playing not only India but also UAE and Bahrain as we relish our chances of making the knockout stage”.
Lastly, he heavily heaped praise for Stephen Constantine on how India have improved under him in the span of 3 years, “India have improved greatly over the last few years. Most of their players are now taller, physically stronger and are improving in every way. I also know the India coach and I know that he is always doing brilliant work. I am sure he has improved India with his knowledge and experience.” concluded Rajevac.
