After roping in playmakers Al-Amna and Juan Barraso, defending I-League champions Minerva Punjab have now struck a deal with St. Vincent international striker Cornelius Stewart.
Stewart is currently plying his trade in Maldives with Maziya Sports Club where he scored 22 goals in his debut season across all competitions.
Before playing in Maldives, the Vincentinian international who can play as striker and also as winger, played for Vancouver Whitecaps, Caledonia AIA etc. In 2017-18 season he played for T.C. Sports Club where he scored 25 goals in the season across all competitions. Cornelius Stewart has represented his nation 36 times and has 13 international goals to his name. Cornelius Stewart played in T.C. Sports Club alongside Kiran Chemjong, the Nepalese international goalie who previously played for Minerva. They went onto win the Dhivehi Premier League(Maldive’s top flight league) that season.
The player is on his way to India. After signing Juan Quero Barraso and Al-Amna, with the installation of a positive striker like Stewart, Minerva Punjab may hope for positive results in the AFC competitions.
