The final showdown of the Hero Indian Super League season 5 is scheduled tomorrow at the Mumbai Football Arena. The face-off is between the two of the strongest and most competent ISL franchises – Bengaluru FC up against FC Goa.
FC Goa Head Coach Sergio Lobera said, “Whatever has happened is past. The finals is a completely different game. We are looking forward to it.”
“We are in an intention to win the finals. We have learnt from the past mistakes. Looking at both games, yes, Bengaluru are the favourites”, opined Lobera.
Goa’s talismanic attacker Ferran Corominas said, “It’s true I couldn’t score in both the fixtures. We got some chances, every game is different but this is finals, anything can happen.”
While asked about his team and the Indian players, Sergio Lobera said, “We have improved as a team. As a coach I am happy. You can’t look at individual players, you have to look at the entire team. One of the achievements this year has been the improvement of our Indian football. They have understood our philosophy and are playing as required”
“I think tomorrow the tactics would be crucial but there are more important things like psychology and feelings coming into play. It will be a test of their patience and emotion. The whole team has worked very good as a team”, concluded the gaffer.
Coro sounded optimistic about the final and requested the fans to attend the game, “I hope I will score the most beautiful goal of my life tomorrow. I’ll tell them to go and enjoy. But, we have to be conscious at the same time. What will this trophy mean to my team the management and the fans!”.
