The All India Football Federation today announced the official appointment of Croatian Igor Štimac to the post of the head coach for the Men’s National Football Team. We spoke to India international midfielder Pronay Halder regarding this development to know about his perspective regarding the team’s new tactician.
The midfielder was all praise for Štimac’s experiences at the top level. He said “The coach brings in a wealth of experience from his playing days as well as managerial career”.
He also added that he and other young Indian players are looking forward to learn and evolve a lot under the guidance of the Croatian tactician who has worked with top professionals of the game. “He has worked with midfielders like Luka Modrić and Ivan Rakitić. Personally, I feel I would be able to learn a lot from him”.
Halder played an important role under the system of previous Head Coach Stephen Constantine and said that e is looking forward to keep on contributing to the team’s cause and pointed out the upcoming Kings Cup in Thailand as the immediate target, “The King’s Cup is a good testing ground for the National team and I look forward to significantly contributing to the team’s performance under the new coach”, Halder concluded.
