Classic Group of Hotels is set to inaugurate it’s newly formed Classic Football Academy after parting ways with NEROCA FC. It’s going to be held on 1st June 2019 with a star studded Manipur I-League vs ISL Stars Friendly Match at the Khumman Lampak Main Stadium at 2:30 PM onwards. Mayor Sports have been announced as the official Kit Partners for the Classic Football Academy and will also provide all the kits for the inaugural match.

CFA has also been able to secure the services of former India international Renedy Singh as their head of the youth development. The academy is scheduled to start functioning from and is on a mission of “Creating future stars in the game of football and in life, as we will make sure that our academy boys and girls do well in life. We are here to produce future stars of Indian Football from north eastern states of India”, said CFA director Naoba Thangjam. Earlier the Classic Group officials told Talk Sports 24×7 in an interview that they are in plans to participate in the AIFF age group competitions from this newly formed academy. The director Naoba Thangjam seemed very confident on his new venture as he told, “We want to build a leading sustainable development model that grows the number of players and that develops a life-long passion for the game by providing enhanced opportunities for all players regardless of age or ability and we would thrive to achieve both our goals!”

On structure of the academy the CFA director enlightened with the detailed work plan, “We are currently starting the academy in three different locations but will gradually increase and spread making sure that not a single kid with passion to play soccer misses the opportunity from the state of Manipur.”

Naoba added, “I would also like to mention that we will be starting only girls football academy to give opportunities to the girl kids to expand their wings in the game of football”. Classic Group of Hotels previously has done a great job with NEROCA FC as they created a buzz among the North-East Football fans and had been a reason to uplift football in Manipur. The new venture is expected to provide a huge boost to the North Eastern football grassroots with technical and professional superiority.

The unique inaugural match seems to be a glimpse of the huge plan they are fascinating to fulfil in long future.
