Talk Sports 24×7: Noe, what made you choose India as your next career destination?

Acosta: When the club first contacted me I didn’t hesitate to make my decision as I’ve been following the league for years and it always seemed interesting to me. I really liked the stadium and the fans of Jamshedpur. ISL is a championship which is continuously growing and has got a very good organization making more players to choose it.

Talk Sports 24×7: What are the goals you want to achieve with JFC in the upcoming season of ISL?

Acosta: I think the club is doing very well and we will be strong enough to fight for the trophy. The first goal we want to fetch is to enter playoffs as all the teams are making good rosters and it is going to be a tough championship. Personally my goal is always to add things to the team; either with goals or with assists. Cause for me the most important thing is to help the team whenever I get my chance.

Talk Sports 24×7: Last season Jamshedpur started with a good pace and were expected to earn the playoff spot but later they ended up 5th in the league table with just two points less than the 4th team. What according were the reasons that needs to be changed from the previous season in order to make into the play offs?

Acosta: I saw some games from last year and I think initially the team played well but had a bad run as they had a while without winning which may be one reason that turned costly at the end. I think it’s very important to get strong at home taking advantage of the heat of the fans and try not to lose points in our own stadium in the coming season; so that we can make the way to the playoffs a bit better and easier for ourselves.

Talk Sports 24×7: What’s your message for the fans?

Acosta: It’s going to be a pride for me to don the Jamshedpur shirt as I’m looking forward to meet them all at the “Furnace”. With the “Red Miner’s help, I am sure that we will achieve the goal that we all want to.
