The recently promoted I-League outfit, TRAU FC is set to rope in a sponsor which is rumoured to be around worth 2-4 crores, TalkSports 24X7 can confirm.
TRAU FC is an Indian professional association football club based in Manipur, India. The club made its I-League 2nd Division debut in the 2017-18 season and got promoted to the I-League within two years after winning the 2nd Division and will now field their team in the 2019-20 edition.
TRAU FC was formed back in 1954. Since then, they have been mostly run by individual funding. This is the first time in their history that the association has roped in such a big sponsor, which is a company based in Kolkata. The entire deal was monitored by Sportifan Ventures, a company based in the United Kingdom. “It is only because of SportiFan that we came to meet Aciesta,” said Mr Phulen, TRAU Secretary.
“This deal will help us get essential exposure to the rest of the country,” added Meitei Phulen.
The newly-promoted I-League club will be renamed as Aciesta TRAU FC in the upcoming I-League season. Aciesta is going to be the title sponsors of the club. TRAU FC played in the Durand Cup where they failed to make a mark. They lost two matches and a match against Chennaiyin FC was cancelled. It remains to be seen whether the new sponsors will bear the fruit for the team in the upcoming season.
Aciesta Sports Alliance Private Limited is based in Kolkata, the sports management & development firm works around providing sports literacy to schools in the state of West Bengal. Aciesta holds the exclusive rights to 6-a-side, 7-a-side, and beach football in India.
