Just a day before the game against Odisha FC, Jorge Costa discussed about various topics related to his team’s performance, injuries and further plans.
When asked about the current form of his team after gaining 4 points in 2 matches, he said, “Those two games were very difficult away games, but we got 4 points which are not perfect but I’m happy with it as we played two games in 72 hours, still the players performed well and I’m happy with their performance.”
Talking about injuries in his squad, Jorge remarked the depth in his team, he said, “I don’t believe that I have only 11 players, I have 25 players who all have the quality to be useful for the team. Also, I have immense trust in them that they will get the job done on the pitch”. He continued by saying that he doesn’t think about the players which left, instead he trusts the players which are available.
Another question to him was what will be the playing 11 tomorrow? Will it be the regular ones, or not as due to injuries some players are unavailable. He replied, “The best 11 will play tomorrow. Every player is ready to play”.
The Portuguese coach seemed to be very happy with Amrinder Singh’s performance till now. As Jorge praised about his excellent goalkeeping abilities. When asked about his feedback on his team’s defence, he said that he wasn’t 100% happy with his defence and they can do better by improving few flaws. And the disadvantage for MCFC in tomorrow’s match is the absence of Souvik Chakrabarti, who got a red card against Chennaiyin FC.
So, at the end of the conference Jorge was happy with his players and was confident for the upcoming fixture as after gaining 4 points in 2 matches, expectations are high from Mumbai.
