AIFF Disciplinary Committee is not happy with the mess created on 1st November in a match between FC Goa and Northeast United at Guwahati. Reportedly they sent a show cause notice to the Goan franchise FC Goa; it’s players Seminlen Doungel, Hugo Boumous and one of the club official masseurs Rajesh Pandidhar.
The whole confrontment began with the 25 year old Manipuri striker Seminlen Doungel who stumbled NorthEast’s Uruguayan Striker Martin Chaves in an off the ball position at 92′ of the game when Goa was losing the match by 2-1 from Redeem Tlang’s 77th minute goal. The players from both teams got entangled in a dispute. The referee sent off Doungel with a red card. The matter had gone worse when the French stiker Hugo Boumous and one of the club officials from FC Goa Rajesh Pandidhar forcibly involved themselves in that incident with shouldering. Rajesh also conceded a red card from the referee. However Goa succeeded to put an equaliser with a Manvir Singh header at 96th minute.
But the matter doesn’t end as the disciplinary committee addressed a show cause notice to the club and it’s players. The players are asked why there will be no action taken against them for such misconduct during a match as per the AIFF DC provision protocols. Same questions are asked to the club for failing to control their bench players and club officials from stepping into the ground in an ongoing match. They are given 3 days to respond to the show cause notice before 9th November.
FC Goa will already miss their Manipuri striker Seminlen Doungel tonight in an away match in Mumbai football arena today against Mumbai City FC.
