Mumbai City FC Head Coach Jorge Costa feels the ‘historic’ partnership between City Football Group and Mumbai City FC will surely help the franchise in many ways. The Coach also said, “These things are not my job, our job is to play well and fight for those 3 points, but naturally everyone is thinking about it in some way as this can change the life of our club. Still we remain focused for tomorrow’s game, and we all know this Manchester City thing is a wonderful thing so nothing to worry about and tomorrow will be better than today.”

Jorge Costa opened up before the much anticipated clash against rivals Kerala Blasters on 5th December. Both the teams are desperate to win their second match of the season as both the teams are under pressure of delivering victories. Injuries remain the problem for both sides as many of their key players are not available, but both the coaches Jorge Costa and Eelco Schattorie are confident with the players they have.

According to the performances in the past matches both the teams have not performed well in their home, so this may favour Kerala as Mumbai defeated them at home early this season.

Mumbai had a wonderful show in their last game against ATK but they couldn’t win because their all Indian backline were outplayed by the opponent in the very last minute of the game. Still Costa is happy and said, “The team is improving and they put a great show that night, I’m proud of it.”

Consequently he opened up that after the International break he wants to keep his players focused and minimize the lapses of concentration. Speaking about his team committing most fouls in this ISL season, he stated, “This is not ballet, this is football there will be contact. I’m personally enjoying contact and we have refs to give the decisions. We play hard and we can play harder,”

Amine Chermiti, the prominent goal scorer of Mumbai accompanied Costa in the conference, and told that he is happy in his new club; it of course takes time to adjust and communicate with the players and the coach. He thanked his team for helping him in every way and is looking forward to experience many wins with the team.

Finally, the Portuguese accepted that they are under pressure in the upcoming game but feels the opponent are in same situation as both are unable to take 3 points since long. So he wanted his team to handle the pressure, work harder and get results.
