Bengali Fast bowler Ishan Porel had to make a return to the country after he injured himself in a net session few days ago.
A senior BCCI official has confirmed the news to PTI. He said, “Ishan Porel has a hamstring injury and is already back in India for the past few days. It’s a hamstring injury but the degree of it can only be assessed once he goes to the NCA for assessment”
Porel was selected as a net bowler for India’s tour of Australia this year. Though the newcomer had a disappointment in the IPL season with zero appearance for his IPL team ‘Kings 11 Punjab’, his performance in last Duleep and Ranji trophies including an impressive New Zealand tour last year was enough to attract the management to select him as a third net bowler for India.
With Tamil Nadu speed star T. Natarajan’s addition to the senior squad Kartik Tyagi became the only option for india in the nets after the injury of Ishan Porel. But this is not the first time the U19 World Cup winner is betrayed by his physique. In 2018 before the final of Under-19 World Cup he faced a serious back injury which ruled him out. But later he made a come back in Ranji Trophy and did well for Bengal. Now it remains how Porel recovers.
