PUBG corporation which was a subsidiary company of South Korean gaming company Krafton Inc till yesterday has now officially merged with Krafton Inc today. The merged company will operate under a new name ‘PUBG Studio’ which will provide global support for all PUBG platforms in selected territories.

After the ban on PUBG Mobile by the Indian government on 7th September, the major stockholder of PUBG Mobile Krafton Inc announced that they decided to abandon the authorization of PUBG Mobile from Chinese company Tencent Games in India.

On 29th October, the day before Tencent deprived the access of PUBG Mobile from India, Krafton game circulated a notice that due to a corporate acquisition Krafton Inc will merge with PUBG Corporation on 2nd December. This means all the rights of ‘PUBG game’ which belonged to ‘PUBG Corp.’ will be automatically transferred to Krafton Inc.

Is this is a step to unban PUBG in India?

The notice also revealed that Krafton Inc will make changes to the terms of service, privacy policy, and rules of conduct in all PUBG platforms. This may have huge impacts on unbanning PUBG mobile in India as the Government of India banned PUBG Mobile because of its Chinese connection and unsafe privacy policy. That’s why the PC and console version of the game is still playable in the country. So the changes in ownership and privacy policy may open the door for PUBG mobile to make a come back this December.
